Our venture into urban farming began in 2016 with an indoor production space of 10,000 sq feet in Bukit Minyak. We currently specialize in the cultivation of various types of lettuce, ice plants and cherry radish and have gained valuable experience and expertise in vertical hydroponics farming.
The onset of COVID-19 came as a reality check and forced the community to revisit their priorities especially with regards to health, safety and quality of life. Eating a healthy and balanced diet became a bigger concern to ensure good physical health and strength to battle infection and illnesses. Responding to this concern and in furtherance of our mission to promote a go-green healthy lifestyle through consumption of ‘safe’ and nutritious produce, Ladang Oasis was spurred into increasing its production to cater to the growing needs of the community.
The demand for our produce was higher than supply and we realized that the current facility could no longer cater to our customer demands and the community around us.
We acquired a 2 acre site in Sungai Dua, Penang. This site will have the capacity to accommodate of vertical farming and have a projected annual production.
The expansion will enable Ladang Oasis to mass produce and cultivate a wider range of micro greens, vegetables, herbs, fruits and allocate space to grow mushrooms. More importantly, this expansion will allow Ladang Oasis to do its part in ensuring a constant source of quality healthy greens to our growing customer base and help our customers and community achieve a healthier lifestyle.
We are also establishing ourselves as a systems and solutions provider for home-based hydroponics farming and will share our expertise to assure customers’ success in their hydroponics ventures.
At Ladang Oasis, our operations are geared to farming in a sustainable way in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. We do so because we care about people and the environment and we aim to do our part in ensuring a better life, a better future and a better world for all.
